Novartis agreed to pay up to $3.2 billion to Alteogen for its ALT-B4 subcutaneous drug delivery platform, adding another major Big Pharma validation of Hybrozyme technology. The deal grants options and rights to develop and commercialize multiple products using ALT-B4 to convert certain therapies from slow intravenous infusions to faster subcutaneous administration.
