Recursion said it expects to start its first registrational trial for REC-4881 in the second half of 2027 after positive Phase Ib/II TUPELO data in oral familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP). The company cited reductions in both the number of larger, higher-risk polyps and lower GI polyp burden across treated patients. REC-4881 is an oral allosteric inhibitor of MEK1/MEK2 developed through a global licensing agreement with Takeda. Recursion said its first registrational timing with the FDA will depend on ongoing discussions, with more details planned later this year. With FAP patients currently managed through lifelong endoscopic surveillance and eventual prophylactic surgery, the update provides an incremental regulatory and clinical justification for moving from mid-stage efficacy signals toward registrational testing.
