Bionyra Pharma emerged from stealth with a $165 million launch, betting on the TL1A target with three early-stage immune drugs. Co-founded by Sofinnova Partners and led by former Sanofi immunology R&D executive Frédéric Marrache, the company is positioning TL1A-directed biologics for inflammatory diseases including IBD and atopic dermatitis. The lead programs include BYN-002, a monoclonal antibody against TL1A in Phase 1, and BYN-003, a bispecific antibody combining TL1A with IL-23-pathway signaling (built on BYN-002). Bionyra also plans BYN-001, an anti-IL-25 antibody, into clinical testing with dosing intended for extended intervals. By funding and accelerating a TL1A-focused pipeline, Bionyra joins a broader immunology push toward longer-acting regimens and mechanism differentiation as IL-23 inhibitors and JAK options face safety, durability, and competitive pressure.
