The late-stage company said it closed the financing alongside leadership and board appointments intended to accelerate pivotal study execution. CSB-001 is designed as a non-surgical treatment option delivered as an eye drop, targeting corneal epithelial regeneration and modulating inflammation and fibrosis. The company cited proof-of-concept clinical signal in LSCD patients, with plans to initiate pivotal clinical trials in the first half of 2027. Backers include Novo Holdings, and the financing round is framed as enabling development where no approved drug therapy currently exists for LSCD, with surgical options such as limbal stem cell transplantation carrying variability in outcomes and risk.
