EPFL researchers introduced CenSpark, a fluorescent probe designed to visualize centrioles and cilia inside living cells across species. The tool aims to make it easier to study structures central to cell division, development, and immune-related biology. By enabling in vivo-style imaging of these organelle components, CenSpark is positioned as a practical assay enabler for labs investigating how cilia and centrosomes contribute to health and disease mechanisms. The work highlights a move toward probes that support dynamic observation rather than endpoint staining only.
