A recent study using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) identified the Unrecognized Hyperglycemia Risk (UHR) threshold as a promising new biomarker for early diabetes detection. This work, led by Yu et al., refines risk stratification and could facilitate timely intervention to curb the global diabetes burden. Published findings contribute to precision endocrinology by enabling earlier identification of at-risk individuals before clinical diagnosis.
