A team led by researchers at MedUni Vienna and the Austrian Academy of Sciences developed an innovative technique combining CRISPR gene editing and machine learning to dissect macrophage immune regulation dynamics. This time-resolved, high-content functional screen elucidates how macrophages respond to varied pathogen stimuli by integrating transcriptomic and epigenomic profiling. The study advances understanding of innate immunity and suggests novel molecular targets for infectious and inflammatory diseases.
