Palomar Labs (formerly Negev Labs) spun out Ariadne Bio to pursue AB-300, a clinical-stage non-hallucinogenic serotonin 2A receptor agonist targeting apathy in Parkinson’s disease. The venture studio positioned AB-300 on the premise of leveraging candidates with prior human validation while addressing late-life neuropsychiatric symptoms. Ariadne Bio’s leadership will be led by Palomar partner Shlomi Raz as CEO, with Daniel Jeffries as chief development officer. The company plans to test whether pharmacologic modulation can restore motivation in apathy, a symptom affecting a substantial share of Parkinson’s patients and a driver of caregiver burden. The spinout adds a new focus area to the Parkinson’s pipeline beyond motor endpoints and aims to differentiate by targeting apathy without the hallucination risk associated with certain 5-HT2A approaches.
