An international consortium led by CNIC, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Yale and Westlake University published NeuMap in Nature, the first comprehensive single‑cell transcriptional atlas of neutrophils across 47 biological conditions. The study analyzed more than one million cells to define finite functional hubs—precursors, interferon‑responsive, immunosuppressive and silent circulating subsets—and mapped trajectories between states in health, inflammation and cancer. Authors report molecular drivers of neutrophil fate and potential translational points for immunomodulation. The atlas provides a standardized framework for interpreting neutrophil roles across diseases and offers a resource for target discovery and biomarker development.
