Natera and Kupando Therapeutics launched a Phase I collaboration in Germany that will use Natera’s blood-based Latitude circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) assay to monitor treatment response in skin cancer patients receiving Kupando’s immunotherapy candidate KUP-101. The trial will track serial ctDNA dynamics across multiple skin cancer types as patients receive KUP-101. Natera’s Latitude MRD testing will be performed at multiple time points, enabling investigators to assess how ctDNA shifts correlate with response. Kupando described KUP-101 as a strategy designed to activate innate immunity and induce trained immunity, with a potential tissue-agnostic development path across solid tumors. For ctDNA platforms, inclusion in early-phase response monitoring can accelerate evidence generation for molecular biomarkers that may inform future patient selection and combination strategies.
