Scientists at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and Nanjing University have developed a novel protein-polymer coassembly supraparticle by combining PLGA with human serum albumin, yielding nanoparticles with ultrahigh colloidal stability and enhanced drug loading efficiency. This new formulation significantly improves encapsulation of doxorubicin up to 40% by weight, surpassing current commercial standards such as Doxil, and demonstrates reduced systemic toxicity in preclinical models. The findings, published in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, offer a promising platform for improved chemotherapeutic delivery, potentially revolutionizing sustained release and efficacy of anticancer drugs.
