Biocartis and Discovery Life Sciences entered a strategic collaboration to expand access to rapid biomarker testing for precision oncology and clinical trial enrollment. The partnership combines Discovery’s clinical laboratory network and biospecimen resources with Biocartis’ Idylla rapid PCR-based platform, designed to generate biomarker results in about three hours. The companies said they will co-develop companion diagnostic and clinical trial assay support, including custom assay development and faster access to prospective and banked biospecimens. They also plan to replicate rapid KRAS testing across Discovery’s Kassel, Germany and Newtown, Pennsylvania sites to support cross-region assay comparability. This collaboration targets an operational bottleneck in global trials: aligning biomarker results produced in different geographies so clinical decisions and trial enrollment remain consistent.
