Pumpkinseed, a Stanford University spinout, is advancing its silicon chip technology that sequences peptides and analyzes immune cell functionality using Raman spectroscopy. Its platform enables single-molecule, label-free detection of peptides up to 30 amino acids long, promising unprecedented insights into the immune system for diagnostics and therapeutics. Notably, Pumpkinseed collaborates with Genentech on oncology immunopeptides and partners with IMEC for commercial-scale chip manufacturing. This innovation could offer higher resolution than ELISA assays and greater throughput at lower costs than mass spectrometry, positioning it as a next-generation immune-monitoring tool.
