A new specialist survey from Spherix Global Insights finds Eli Lilly’s injectable GLP-1 therapy Zepbound remains the most preferred among clinicians surveyed, even as oral obesity options enter the market. In the poll of 185 US healthcare specialists, 80% reported being highly satisfied with Zepbound, versus 59% for Novo Nordisk’s injectable Wegovy. Satisfaction ratings for oral therapies were lower but still substantial early in their rollout: 48% for the Wegovy pill and 47% for Lilly’s oral Foundayo. Respondents also pointed to discontinuation pressures, including cost or lack of insurance coverage (74%) and gastrointestinal side effects (72%). The results suggest injectable GLP-1s still dominate real-world confidence, while oral agents may need clearer tolerance and reimbursement pathways to close the satisfaction gap.
