Drug delivery particle engineering is getting fresh translational momentum: The Journal of Pharmaceutical Investigation announced a January 2027 special issue focused on advances in dosage form development, emphasizing particle engineering, formulation science, and modern manufacturing. Submissions are due June 30, 2026. On the systems side, bioprocess researchers highlighted how “physical connectivity” in fluid management—tubing, connectors, sensors, and flow paths—can drive variability in mAb, mRNA, ADC, multispecific, and cell-therapy manufacturing. The work argues that component compatibility alone is insufficient for scale-up and regulatory compliance. The combined emphasis on translational formulation and robust process integration signals continued investment in making complex modalities reliably manufacturable across sites.
