Researchers at ETH Zurich described a magnetically guided microrobotic platform that navigates vasculature and cerebrospinal spaces in large‑animal models to deliver localized drug payloads. The system integrates electromagnetic navigation, custom release catheters, and dissolvable drug capsules; in sheep and pig studies the platform reached small vessels and released therapeutics with spatial precision. Authors propose the approach could reduce systemic side effects and enable high‑dose local therapy for stroke and other focal indications.
