Merck KGaA agreed to acquire Bio-Techne for about $11.3 billion, a move aimed at expanding the German company’s life-science footprint across multiomics, spatial biology, and advanced research tools. The purchase also brings Bio-Techne’s ProteinSimple automated protein analysis system and RNAscope multiplex in situ hybridization technology, positioning Merck KGaA to offer more integrated workflows across discovery through manufacturing.
