A ten-member European consortium led by Exogenus Therapeutics launched ExoCordOA, a five-year Horizon Europe project funded with $14.4 million to develop an osteoarthritis disease-modifying secretome therapy. The consortium plans to advance extracellular vesicle-enriched secretome approaches toward clinical use, with initial focus on osteoarthritis. The program targets standardization and potency assessment bottlenecks, aiming to clarify regulatory pathways for secretome-based biologics. With no approved disease-modifying OA drugs currently on the market, the consortium’s execution around manufacturing controls will be central.
