Freenome reported clinical validation data for an updated SimpleScreen CRC blood test, with results based on blinded previously unevaluated samples from the prospective PREEMPT CRC study and additional previously tested material. In nearly 49,000 average-risk adults slated for colonoscopy, the updated test achieved overall sensitivity of 80.4% and specificity of 90%, with improvements reported for advanced precancerous lesions despite slight sensitivity decline overall versus the prior version.
