Merck’s sacituzumab tirumotecan, developed with Kelun-Biotech, cut the risk of death by one-third in advanced endometrial cancer in randomized Phase 3 results presented via STAT+. The drug, also known as sac-TMT, adds to survival-extending data already seen in multiple cancer types through Kelun’s earlier efforts in China. Merck is running 18 global Phase 3 studies of sac-TMT, including 10 in women’s cancers, as the company works to replace revenue tied to Keytruda as patent protection approaches expiration in 2028. The endometrial signal is likely to sharpen payer and investigator interest in sequencing sac-TMT against established second-line and later-line options, particularly where ADC and targeted chemotherapy strategies are expanding.
