Takeda reported head-to-head clinical results showing its AI-designed once-daily psoriasis pill, zasocitinib, outperformed Bristol Myers Squibb’s Sotyktu in a Phase 3 trial. In company-reported data, more than 35% of patients achieved complete skin clearance at 16 weeks, a rate Takeda said was over 2.5 times the response seen with Sotyktu. Takeda also highlighted faster separation in efficacy starting as early as week 8 and pointed to secondary endpoints such as PASI 90 (at least 90% improvement in skin lesions). The company characterized the findings as de-risking a potential regulatory filing, with an FDA submission expected in the coming months. Zasocitinib was acquired from Nimbus Therapeutics in a $4 billion deal, and the mechanism is described as targeting TYK2 while maintaining IL-23 inhibition for 24 hours—an approach designed for inflammatory pathway control in psoriasis.
