At the World Conference on Lung Cancer, new Phase 3 data added clarity to the competitive PD-1/VEGF space. Akeso and Summit Therapeutics reported overall survival benefit for ivonescimab (HARMONi-2), showing a relative risk of death 27% lower than Merck’s Keytruda in the broadly analyzed population, with a larger benefit in patients with high PD-L1. In another lung-cancer signal, Roche’s collaborator MediLink announced Phase 3 TAISHAN-302 results for tambotatug pelitecan (Tam-Peli, YL-201), a B7-H3-directed ADC with a dual release payload mechanism. Tam-Peli reduced the risk of death by 54% versus topotecan in Chinese patients with relapsed SCLC, alongside higher objective response and extended progression-free survival. Not all readouts were positive for the class: AstraZeneca’s camizestrant missed progression-free survival in Phase 3 Serena-4 in first-line HER2-negative, ER-positive breast cancer when used with palbociclib, narrowing label expectations for oral SERDs toward specific patient biology.
