Labcorp agreed to acquire BioReference Diagnostics assets in a $722 million deal, expanding laboratory testing operations across clinical and women’s health, urology, and corrections services. The transaction includes more than 80 patient service centers and adds BioReference’s FDA-approved 4Kscore Test, which helps estimate prostate cancer risk before biopsy. Labcorp projected about $250 million in revenue in the first year post-close, with an earnout up to $150 million tied to 4Kscore performance. The company said services and operations will continue unchanged until regulatory approvals and closing conditions are satisfied. For diagnostics competitors and payers, the key implication is accelerated distribution of a risk-assessment tool with established FDA status and a stronger network footprint through Labcorp’s scale.
