Freenome completed a SPAC merger with Perceptive Capital Solutions to go public, raising total gross proceeds of $310 million. The company will begin trading on Nasdaq under the ticker FRNM, with a PIPE commitment of about $240 million plus roughly $70 million held in the trust account. Freenome plans to pursue FDA approval for its first colorectal cancer test, SimpleScreen CRC, and then launch additional assays later in 2026 and early 2027. CEO Aaron Elliott said the company chose the SPAC route for closing certainty and emphasized that going public will increase accountability to execution timelines. The company recently shared topline results for its second-generation CRC test, with feedback focused on sensitivity for early precancerous lesions while overall sensitivity drew a more neutral reaction. Freenome’s approach uses sequencing to analyze methylation signatures from circulating cell-free DNA and includes lab process improvements intended to raise mean target coverage. As the IPO window remains active for oncology diagnostics, Freenome’s listing adds another high-profile bet that blood-based screening can scale with regulatory clearance and payer adoption.
