Scientists from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and Nanjing University have engineered a protein-polymer coassembly supraparticle combining PLGA polymer and albumin protein, achieving ultrahigh colloidal stability and unprecedented drug-loading capacity. Reported in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, the system encapsulated up to 40% weight doxorubicin, greatly surpassing existing formulations. This design enhances biocompatibility, reduces side effects, and may enable scalable production. The hybrid nanocarrier offers promising implications for safer and more efficacious chemotherapy administration and potentially other therapeutic agents.
