Incyte agreed to acquire Vega Therapeutics in a deal valued at up to $2 billion to add VGA039, a Phase III candidate for von Willebrand disease (VWD). The asset is designed as a subcutaneous prophylactic monoclonal antibody intended to provide monthly dosing and reduce the treatment burden seen with current intravenous regimens. VGA039 is in the Phase III VIVID-6 trial (NCT07115004), a global, single-arm crossover study evaluating safety and efficacy across VWD types, including patients with high disease burden. VIVID-6 is expected to complete in October 2028 with data anticipated in early 2029. Incyte said the transaction supports its growth strategy in hematology, while analysts cited the potential for $1B+ global net sales if the program is successful. Closing remains subject to standard conditions, with timing expected in 2026.
