BaseClear will adopt Ultima Genomics’ UG200 sequencing platform to support sequencing services for European and global customers. The Netherlands-based genomics services provider is set to become the first Ultima-certified service provider in Europe, extending access to the company’s long-read and high-accuracy sequencing workflow. Ultima’s platform will also support BaseClear’s use of the Trillion Gene Atlas initiative, a data and modeling effort involving Basecamp Research, Anthropic, Ultima, and Pacific Biosciences. The project aims to generate and model biological data by collecting genomic information from more than 100 million species. For service providers and researchers, the decision signals continued commercialization of newer sequencing platforms through certified service networks rather than direct instrument procurement. Adoption also positions BaseClear to participate in large-scale biodiversity and biological modeling programs that depend on high-throughput sequencing capacity.
