IMU Biosciences announced a collaboration with UK Biobank to generate a high-resolution immune profiling dataset using single-cell multiomic methods and AI-based computation. The effort targets more than 100 million immune data points per sample from tens of thousands of UK Biobank participants. The program starts with 80,000 blood samples and is designed to expand across the full UK Biobank cohort of 500,000 participants. It integrates high-dimensional immune-cell profiling, transcriptomics, and computational analysis, with data returned to UK Biobank for use by approved researchers. To execute the assay and sequencing components, IMU selected technology from Waters and Ultima Genomics, including Waters’ BD FACSDiscover platform and BD Rhapsody single-cell multiomics system, alongside Ultima’s UG200 sequencing platform. For translational researchers, the collaboration is a step toward larger, standardized immune references that can improve immune-driven risk models, treatment response research, and mechanistic studies linking immune variation to disease outcomes.
