10x Genomics advanced its clinical diagnostics expansion by planning a CLIA-certified laboratory set to open next year, building on its shift from primarily research tools to clinical collaborations. The company said the lab build-out is underway and is intended to accelerate assay validation and optimization. 10x is also partnering with Cleveland Clinic on a multi-year collaboration focused on bladder cancer, using patient samples to correlate single-cell and spatial biology signatures with therapeutic outcomes. The collaboration includes work on biomarkers intended to predict response to immunotherapies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). For the diagnostics market, the CLIA lab move is a practical milestone: it reduces dependency on external facilities for clinical-grade workflows and supports faster iteration between discovery platforms and clinically usable assays.
