Illumina announced it will add 50,000 genomes with matched proteomics to the Alliance for Genomic Discovery dataset, expanding the pharmaceutical‑accessible resource for target discovery and translational research. GSK and Amgen led the proteomics expansion; DeCode Genetics will generate the protein data using Illumina’s Protein Prep assay. The AGD core dataset now exceeds 300,000 whole genomes with longitudinal clinical data, and Regeneron Genetics Center is joining the alliance. Illumina said integrating proteomics will help link genetic variation to molecular mechanisms and accelerate target validation for drug development.
