10x Genomics laid out progress on a CLIA-certified laboratory planned to open next year, as it expands from research sequencing into clinical diagnostics. The company said the lab will be built at its Pleasanton, California headquarters and is designed to speed assay validation, iteration, and optimization. The CLIA capability supports a clinical collaboration with Cleveland Clinic focused on bladder cancer. Under the multi-year effort, Cleveland Clinic will provide patient samples while 10x plans single-cell and spatial analyses using its Flex Apex and Xenium platforms to correlate biomarkers with therapeutic outcomes. 10x’s stated goal is to identify biomarkers that predict patient response to emerging bladder cancer therapies, including immunotherapies and antibody-drug conjugates. Bringing CLIA operations in-house is a key step toward broader adoption of single-cell and spatial workflows in regulated clinical settings.
