MeiraGTx secured up to $400 million from Oberland Capital to fund late-stage AAV gene therapy programs across rare eye disease and radiation-induced dry mouth in head and neck cancer survivors. The structure includes up to $375 million in non-dilutive capital tied to capped royalties, plus an equity component. An initial $135 million funding tranche has already been delivered, including low single-digit royalty payments on included assets and a $10 million equity stake. Additional payments are linked to Phase 2 completion milestones and regulatory outcomes for the company’s lead candidates. The financing underscores investor appetite for late-stage, commercially plausible gene therapy assets, especially where multiple regulatory catalysts are approaching within 12 to 24 months.
