CGT Catapult unveiled a continuous bioprocessing platform for advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs), aiming to raise yields and productivity to expand gene therapy manufacturing capacity. The platform uses perfusion upstream and a downstream clarification step plus multi-column chromatography, with digital modeling used to generate laboratory parameters. CGT Catapult reported recovery rates and performance slightly better than or comparable to traditional batch processing. The organization is now seeking collaborators across therapy developers, vendors, automation suppliers, and CDMOs to validate continuous approaches as an alternative route for gene therapy and other ATMP bottleneck areas.
