GE Healthcare agreed to acquire Intelerad Medical Systems for $2.3 billion in cash to expand digital and cloud-enabled imaging capabilities for cardiology and radiology across outpatient and ambulatory settings. The acquisition supports GE’s strategy to broaden beyond inpatient hardware into software-as-a-service and cloud workflows, and management expects the deal to close in the first half of 2026. GE said the purchase will accelerate its roadmap to triple cloud-enabled products by 2028 and improve end-to-end imaging offerings for hospital systems and ambulatory clinics.
