Pairidex raised a $4.89 million seed round to accelerate FusionMRD, an RNA-based droplet digital PCR blood test targeting minimal residual disease in gene-fusion driven blood cancers. The company said the round was oversubscribed and will support commercialization, additional clinical studies, lab operations, and its personalized diagnostics platform. FusionMRD is described as lab-developed and currently commercially available through Pairidex’s CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited laboratory. Pairidex initially focuses on AML patients with gene-fusion drivers, estimating that roughly half of AML cases fit that category. For clinicians and the biotech diagnostics market, the fundraising points to continued momentum for MRD readouts that aim to enable more dynamic treatment decisions with less invasive sampling than repeated tissue biopsies. The company’s stated near-term target is deeper clinical validation in fusion-driven settings and expansion of the platform beyond the initial indication.
