AnaCardio closed a €62.5 million ($70.5 million) Series B round to advance its oral heart failure therapy AC01 into Phase IIb development. The Stockholm-based company said it will use the financing to fully fund AC01’s next clinical step targeting advanced heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). AC01 is described as an oral calcium-sensitizing contractile agent with a differentiated mechanism as a ghrelin mimetic small molecule originally licensed from Helsinn in 2022. AnaCardio said it also received positive scientific advice from both the FDA and the European Medicines Agency. For investors and peers, the round reinforces continued capital formation in late preclinical/Phase II heart failure—especially for mechanisms that differentiate from dominant guideline drug classes.
