Cellares and GenomeFrontier Therapeutics launched a collaboration to evaluate automated manufacturing for GF-CART01 using Cellares’ Cell Shuttle platform. The partnership focuses on translating GenomeFrontier’s virus-free CAR T manufacturing process to an electroporation-based, end-to-end automated workflow. Cellares said the effort emphasizes transfection operations and reliability as GF-CART01 advances, with the Taiwanese company recruiting for a Phase I trial in the US. The collaboration marks Cellares’ first development deal in Asia and aims to support both clinical development needs and future scale. Autologous CAR T manufacturing remains a primary bottleneck for cost, variability, and patient access, and both companies position automation as a route to improve consistency while maintaining clinical readiness.
