Preclinical oncology research continued to identify molecular drivers and therapeutic opportunities across multiple cancers. In hepatocellular carcinoma, a study reported that hypoxia-induced GP73 promotes the Warburg effect via HIF-1α and links the pathway to growth, invasion, and transarterial chemoembolization resistance. In prostate cancer, TCGA-based work identified a coagulation-associated lncRNA signature and suggested functional impact from targeting SLC9A3-AS1, while other laboratory efforts evaluated immune-related markers and therapeutic options. Across these studies, a consistent theme is pathway-level specificity: results point to mechanistic targets rather than only phenotypic correlations. For translation, the next step is moving from knockdown or pathway inhibition to pharmacologically tractable targets with biomarkers that can stratify responders. These findings will be watched as supporting rationales for future IND-enabling studies and for biomarker hypotheses in early clinical trials.
