Freenome completed its move to public markets through a merger with SPAC Perceptive Capital Solutions, raising gross proceeds of $310 million to accelerate development of its blood-based colorectal cancer tests. The company’s SimpleScreen CRC program is the immediate focus, with Freenome targeting FDA approval for a first version of the test, and plans for a supplemental premarket application for a second-generation version later. Freenome also disclosed that the platform uses sequencing to analyze methylation signatures from circulating cell-free DNA. Freenome’s PIPE included commitments led by Perceptive Advisors and RA Capital, with participation from Bain Capital Life Sciences, ADAR1 Capital Management, and Farallon Capital Management. The public listing tightens execution scrutiny as the company moves toward regulatory milestones that will determine whether its assay can translate sensitivity into real-world screening performance and reimbursement momentum.
