AbbVie and Genmab reported that Epkinly, their T-cell engager bispecific, cut the risk of disease progression or death by nearly half when combined with R-CHOP in newly diagnosed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. The Phase 3 trial enrolled 900 patients at intermediate or high risk of death. The companies said Epkinly’s results exceeded investor expectations, and investigators reported a 51% relative risk reduction by the trial’s primary measure. Epkinly previously gained accelerated U.S. approval in the third-line setting. If confirmed in regulatory filings, the first-line readout could intensify competition for DLBCL treatment and accelerate conversion from accelerated to full approval pathways.
