Alamar Biosciences and Nightingale Health teamed with UK Biobank on UKB-PRISM, an ultrasensitive proteomics study aimed at detecting scarce blood proteins linked to neurodegeneration. The effort will measure hundreds of circulating proteins across 80,000 UK Biobank samples using Nightingale’s labs and Alamar’s NULISA platform. Funding includes the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Alzheimer’s Research UK, and LifeArc, with completion targeted by the end of 2027. The firms said the study is designed to test whether biomarker signals can be identified years before symptoms appear. The partnership adds to the growing push for blood-based, scalable biomarker discovery for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, where low abundance remains a core measurement hurdle.
