Jazz Pharmaceuticals won an FDA label expansion for Ziihera, moving the bispecific antibody into a frontline regimen for certain gastric cancer patients. The approval makes Ziihera a newly marketed option for patients starting first-line therapy, after its earlier use in later-line settings. RBC and Stifel analysts highlighted commercial implications, including the competitive pressure from HER2 antibody biosimilars and the possibility of broader uptake in additional gastrointestinal indications. The company’s development strategy also centers on consistent clinical cutoffs and label language designed for real-world deployment. Separately, Jazz’s Ziihera reached the market earlier through an accelerated pathway for biliary tract cancer, setting up the current expansion as a step toward a larger total addressable population. The company continues to pair Ziihera with chemotherapy and, in some regimens, immunotherapy.
