BioMarin struck an up-to-$475 million deal for HM15421/GC1134A (also known as LA-GLA), a next-generation enzyme replacement therapy candidate for Fabry disease. The therapy combines Hanmi’s long-acting drug technology with GC Biopharma’s ERT expertise to extend in-body residence time, and it is being developed as a subcutaneous injection rather than the standard intravenous schedule. BioMarin received worldwide rights, while GC and Hanmi retain commercialization rights in Korea and support regulatory approval efforts. Milestone payments could reach $405 million for the South Korean partners, with tiered royalties on net sales. The candidate is in a Phase I/II trial (NCT06858397), and BioMarin positioned the program as an extension of its growing Fabry portfolio, including after its acquisition earlier in 2026 of Amicus.
