Swedish spinout Epigenovo is commercializing scFFPE‑ATAC, a high‑throughput single‑cell chromatin‑accessibility assay compatible with formalin‑fixed paraffin‑embedded (FFPE) tissues. The method, developed at Uppsala University and described in Nature Communications, uses a custom FFPE‑Tn5 adaptor and combinatorial indexing to generate large barcode sets from nuclei isolated from FFPE blocks. Epigenovo is raising funds to kit the assay for clinical and translational labs, addressing a longstanding limitation: translating single‑cell epigenetics into FFPE‑based clinical workflows.
