A newly reported PGK1 inhibitor showed efficacy in pancreatic cancer models, with the compound demonstrating potent target inhibition in vitro. The report describes dose-dependent suppression in both a PGK1 inhibition assay and a PGK1 glycolytic activity assay. PGK1 (phosphoglycerate kinase 1) is part of glycolysis, and targeting glycolytic dependency is a recurring approach in oncology research. The in vitro dataset supports continued evaluation of the molecule in additional preclinical systems, including tumor growth and metabolic biomarker readouts. While the findings are preclinical, they add another candidate mechanism to the competitive landscape of metabolic oncology strategies.
