JNC used BioProcess International 2026 to highlight Cellufine chromatography media designed for downstream processing of increasingly large and complex modalities. The company focused on a large-pore cellulose base bead architecture aimed at improving access for bulky targets that are difficult to separate on conventional porous resins. JNC also disclosed development-stage products including Cellufine MLP DexQ for separating empty and full AAV particles, and DexS for viral-vector purification. In reported testing, DexS achieved large reductions in protein impurities while maintaining high virus recovery in human coronavirus OC43 experiments. The theme of the presentation was process fit: pore architecture influences how particles enter beads, bind ligands and elute from process-related impurities—an engineering detail increasingly relevant for viral-vector and other non-traditional biologic formats.
