Roche signed an agreement with Dualitas Therapeutics to use its Dualscreen Bispecific Discovery Engine, paying $36.5 million upfront and offering total consideration of up to $1 billion for screening and development milestones. The partnership will screen more than 300,000 bispecific antibody combinations to identify pairs with synergistic effects. Dualitas’s approach evaluates tethered bispecific pairs versus individual antibody combinations, with the goal of uncovering immunology and inflammation candidates that can outperform conventional pairwise strategies. The deal underscores how large pharma is outsourcing early discovery exploration to platform companies that can scale combinatorial searches while generating more structured hit discovery. For Dualitas, the Roche partnership is its first announced partner and provides validation for the engine’s capacity to deliver actionable outputs across immunology and inflammation disease areas.
