Moonlight AI, a Swiss developer of diagnostic image-analysis software, raised $3.3 million in private financing to expand its dataset linking cytology images to genomic biomarkers. The company said the new round is led by Lotus One Investment and VP Venture Partners with support from Medin Fund, N&V Capital, and existing investors. Moonlight is building tools designed to identify genomic disease signatures from routine blood and cytology smear images. It plans to grow its whole-slide cytopathology library together with linked genomic data through clinical collaborators, and use the funds to add employees while advancing programs in myelodysplastic syndrome, non-small cell lung cancer, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. The funding underscores continued investor focus on AI-enabled diagnostics that can leverage routine pathology workflows to generate clinically actionable molecular insights, potentially reducing reliance on standalone sequencing pathways.
