Natera and Eledon Pharmaceuticals partnered to incorporate Natera’s Prospera donor-derived cell-free DNA (dd-cfDNA) test into a global Phase III kidney transplant trial. Prospera will serve as the exclusive longitudinal monitoring assay in Eledon’s tegoprubart study, which is scheduled to begin later this year and aims to enroll about 600 transplant recipients across more than 100 centers. The test will use a two-threshold algorithm based on relative dd-cfDNA fraction and total dd-cfDNA amount to track allograft injury dynamics. For transplantation drug development, the partnership underscores how noninvasive molecular surveillance tools are increasingly being baked into late-stage trial designs to improve endpoint sensitivity and patient management granularity.
