Delfi Diagnostics received New York State Department of Health approval to offer its FirstLook Lung blood-based laboratory-developed test for lung cancer screening. The cell-free DNA assay can now be offered to patients in all 50 states, and the company is working toward FDA approval. Delfi cited clinical evidence from nearly 3,000 patients showing FirstLook Lung raised lung cancer screening rates by nearly threefold. The NY approval is positioned as a key step in expanding payer and provider adoption for blood-based lung screening in a segment where eligible patients remain underserved.
